Mission Trip to Japan and the Philippines
June 5, 2019
Missionary Greg Lyons invited me to attend the annual Global Missionary Clearinghouse conference in Manila, Philippines. The purpose of this trip was to recruit Filipino missionaries to come and serve in the Dominican Republic. My father accompanied me on the trip and on the way we were able to stop in Tokyo, Japan. We had the unique opportunity to visit missionaries Jim and Amy Smith. They are doing a tremendous work with the Japanese people. I am so impressed with the impact they are having in their city. All Praise to God that this dear family, has mastered the language and culture to share the Good News of Jesus Christ in a land full of idolatry.
This trip was a tremendous blessing and we were able to accomplish much for the Kingdom of God. I had the opportunity to speak many times and give the call to missions for the Dominican Republic. The vision God has given is: to change the idea that all missionaries must come from the US. The Filipino culture, economic needs, and language is very similar to Latin countries.
The missionary candidates are required to be called of God, graduates of Bible Baptist College of Asia, complete missionary training (which includes Spanish language) and finally raise their monthly financial support.
We are asking God to send us at least 4 Filipino missionaries to begin with a target of 20 in the near future. The harvest is ready, but we need laborers to reap the harvest! Would you pray about this open door and ask God how you can help us spread the Gospel and reap a harvest of souls?
